Haiti Update July 2021
On July 7th, 2021, the world woke up to the terrible news of the assassination of Haiti’s president, Jovenel Moise. Although we refrain from commenting on the violent act by offering any perspectives, we are compelled to repeat a plea that has been echoed before: “Please, pray for our beloved Haiti”.
In spite of its many riches, Haiti has been in turmoil for years. The basic infrastructure of this once-flourishing nation is grossly non-existent. The judiciary and legislative branches of the country are reduced to a non-functioning skeleton. The immediate future of Haiti is unpredictable according to all political analysts. Therefore, “Please, pray for our beloved Haiti”.
MIVO continues to make an impact and be a beacon of hope. The center is still functioning with our committed Haitian staff. I am glad to announce that the entire MIVO Haitian team is safe and devoted to hold the banner.
I would like to take the opportunity to express our deep gratitude to our friends and supporters. Your contributions make it possible for MIVO to carry its mission in Haiti.
I also want to remind you that MIVO remains committed to serve the people of Haiti by offering treatment options for Orthopedic problems in a setting consistent with our Christian faith.
May God bless Haiti and May God bless you!!!
