A spectacular group of people showed up for MIVO's 3rd annual FUNday at Wm. Kain Park on Lake Redman on Sat., June 29th. We gathered together for a delicious meal, time of fellowship and sharing along with time to enjoy God's creation at the park. Thanks to donations from local businesses, the MIVO crew and our guests, the picnic meal was outstanding! Our raffle proved successful as guests won baskets of goodies and the LaFave family won the kayak! ( * Special thanks to all attendees for being so understanding, as when the afternoon storm blew in, our plans were disrupted, yet our joy was not dampened by the foul weather. ) Proceeds from the raffle and cash donations goes directly to the Be the Bridge campaign. (place link here?) Through generous hearts, critical supplies and equipment will be shipped to the clinic for distribution to those in need.
There were many activities, introductions and plans for the day, yet the highlight was the time of shared testimonials. Dr. E. started the dialogue through telling his own story and than he called on others to share. The pavilion was filled with a deep, deep love and compassion for our Haitian brothers and sisters! The shared stories were so powerful that it is difficult to explain and or express..... It is something you had to witness! We give God thanks for His hand upon The MIVO Foundation and for each volunteer. At FUNday, we were all blessed to witness the impact of positive change upon our Haitian community and upon each of our own hearts. Enhanced by faith in an Almighty Father who watches over us, experiences while in Haiti are truly life-changing for countless people. Again, we give all glory to God as praises rise for each member of our expanding MIVO family and for the memories made on yet another wonderful FUNday!
