FAITH IN ACTION
Beginning with the 3rd quarter of 2022, The MIVO Foundation established our "Faith in Action'' award program. This quarterly award will be given to an extraordinary MIVO Stateside Volunteer individual or organization in honor of their outstanding Christian servanthood as they partner with our foundation in bringing hope to "the least of these" in Haiti.
Robert Burns's Faith in Action
It is with great pleasure that I write these remarks to present “The Faith in Action Award” to Robert Maurice Burns III, RN (better known to us as Bob). I believe that Bob is the best choice for this award because he truly embodies the spirit of this award. I have had the distinct privilege of working with Bob in different roles and strongly believe that he is a prime candidate for this award because of who he is and what he does for the foundation.
As Bob’s contributions to the MIVO Foundation, I would briefly highlight:
His willingness to go to Haiti several times to serve.
His participation in our stateside activities.
His constant efforts to collect tools, equipment, supplies for the foundation.
The following is a list of specific examples that underline Bob’s character:

Always responds even at the last minute.

Scrub, circulator, first assistant

Humble support

Compassionate skills with an after-hour hand laceration.

Those highlights underscore Bob’s honesty, passion, sense of commitment, and soft leadership skills.
